Learners at Chief Ampie Secondary School in Leandra were protesting outside their school on
Monday morning, alleging that witchcraft and satanic rituals are being performed on the
premises.

The protest comes after chaotic scenes last Friday when several students allegedly fainted and
acted as if they were possessed. The same happened again on Monday with nine learners
supposedly rolling on the floor like snakes after being possessed.

Parents have offered to bring in pastors to pray and exorcise the school, but the principal has
refused any intervention so far. He was escorted out by police earlier as tyres burned outside the
gates in protest.

With frustrated students still chanting outside, parents have negotiated a meeting to address the
disturbing situation.
