The case of a 39-year-old pastor, Promise Shabangu, accused of raping a minor has been postponed to next Wednesday for bail judgment. Shabangu appeared before the Mkhuhlu Magistrate’s Court on Thursday for his formal bail application.
Shabangu is accused of sexually molesting a 15-year-old girl, one of his congregants. It is alleged that Shabangu raped the girl and gave her R100 and a calculator.
The community wish that Shabangu can be denied bail and be remanded in custody until he finishes the whole case
The community’s anger towards the accused is clear, and they are demanding that justice be served.
